But eating out is actually much more complex than that, and somewhere along the way, some of us lose track of our humanity and become total assholes. Of course, the combination of hunger, boozing and the general impatience that characterizes urban life is practically a recipe for disaster; but the one thing diners seem to instantly forget is that people in the hospitality business are there to provide you with hospitality. And the vast majority of them actually enjoy showing you a good time.
